OSBA endorsements The board voted to endorse several candidates for the Oregon School Boards Association. In the first motion the board supported Tristan Irvin (OSBA board position 16), Nancy Thomas (position 20), Becky Timchuk (legislative policy committee position 16) and Crystal Weston (LPC position 20); that motion carried with one abstention. The board separately moved to support Melissa Potter for LPC position 15 (a contested race) and that motion also passed with Director Miles recorded as abstaining.
City of Tigard tax exemptions (Resolution 25‑26‑09) Finance staff explained the city’s request to authorize automatic extension of qualifying affordable‑housing tax exemptions; three current projects are already exempted for a total of about $212,000 across permanent rate, local option and bond levies. The board approved Resolution 25‑26‑09 to grant such authority.
Bond project manager contract awards After a competitive RFP and interview process, the board approved awards for construction management services across multiple bond projects. The board authorized contracts (packet figures) totaling not to exceed $3,728,298 across selected managers, with Onehunga/Onehunga Group listed for $1,033,874 and Cornerstone Management Group for $2,694,424. The motion to award these contracts was moved by Director Miles and seconded by Director Weston and the board voted to approve the awards.
