Board proposes districtwide community engagement task force, says SiteLogic will assist at no additional charge

The St. Francis Area Schools Board of Education discussed a proposed districtwide community engagement task force to help prioritize facilities and grounds needs and to guide long-term planning.

Board Member (Speaker 1) and Member Shonrock (unnamed in transcript) said the facilities-and-grounds committee has been working with the city and suggested forming a task force of stakeholders from across the district rather than making decisions in a silo. They proposed using SiteLogic, a vendor the district already contracts with, to manage community engagement activities including applications, selection and facilitation. "SiteLogic...there won't be a charge to the district," a board member said, adding the company’s work is part of the existing contract.

When asked by Miss Ashley how many people would serve, presenters said SiteLogic typically recruits between 15 and 50 applicants and that their preferred size has been 20–30 members; the district would open an application process and not rely on board appointment of individuals. Board members emphasized tours, stakeholder reports and compiling data across departments to inform future decisions. No action was required or taken at the Sept. 8 meeting; the presenters said a future meeting would include an action item if the board supports moving forward.

Why it matters: A districtwide task force would shape long-term facilities priorities and could inform referendum planning, bond proposals or future capital spending. Board members stressed inclusive selection and transparency in advance of any formal vote or funding request.
