Nominations opened for the position; a trustee nominated Freddie Williams and a second was recorded. The board voted in favor by roll call. The board then adopted a resolution appointing Williams and the district clerk administered the oath: "I do solemnly swear... that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New York," followed by the oath to discharge the duties of school board vice president.
Trustees congratulated Williams and the board moved on to remaining items on the agenda.
