Staff noted that statewide tests were revised this year, which complicates direct year‑to‑year comparisons.
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Stacy Griffin Cooper walked trustees through the district performance plan’s eight goals: K–8 I‑Ready growth; 9–10 MAP growth; 11th‑grade ACT improvement; graduation rate increases; work‑based learning expansion; WorkKeys implementation for 10th graders; student participation in career exposure; and chronic absenteeism reduction. She said quarter‑one work‑based learning reports showed more than 22,000 experiences toward the district’s participation goals and that chronic absenteeism for 24‑25 sat at 36.2% with a target to reduce it by 10 percentage points.
Trustees praised teachers and site staff for progress and asked for continued recalibration of goals once state‑validated graduation data are available. The board unanimously accepted the assessment report and the district performance plan progress review and asked staff to continue monitoring and refining interventions.
The presentation included a request to recognize site staff for their role in the improvements and to continue focusing on tiered interventions and professional learning communities to sustain gains.
