Polk County approves security hardware, MnDOT detour agreement and equipment contracts

Speaker 9 said MnDOT will pay Polk County $22,694 to cover impacts of the detour; the board approved the agreement and a related resolution so signatures can be obtained without waiting for another meeting.
Equipment and road restrictions: The board awarded tractor rental rates to Valley Plains Equipment (Crookston) at $25 per hour for winter and summer leases, an increase from previous rates. Because detoured heavy trucks were using local gravel roads north of Climax, Vineland Township requested five-ton postings; commissioners approved incorporating those postings into the county's road-restriction map so enforcement matches posted restrictions.
