Norman Public Schools previews 2023 bond renovations for four elementary schools, construction expected May 2026

Eisenhower's work is primarily renovation-focused and includes new permanent classroom millwork, ADA-restroom upgrades, corridor finishes (tile wainscoting), a renovated STEAM classroom, new parking along the north side of the building, and a new bus loop; the project also includes façade upgrades intended to highlight the main entrance and tie the building's appearance to prior additions.
Jackson will receive exterior finish upgrades to older building areas, enclosure and conditioning of a presently covered-but-unenclosed courtyard (while preserving outdoor courtyard use), classroom upgrades (ceilings, lighting, paint, flooring and millwork), restroom ADA upgrades, and ADA stage access. Truman's renovations include corridor ceiling upgrades, restroom ADA improvements, ADA stage access and construction of an accessible route from ADA parking to the main building entrance, which the site currently lacks.
During questions, staff said construction on all four projects is expected to begin in May 2026 and that the next formal board step will be presentation of construction bids for board approval.
