The applicant, Sage Entitlements representing C&R Freeport Properties, seeks approval for a major development that would include 1,923 single-family dwelling units on roughly 988.02 acres under a rural-village zoning category. Tina Akblad of Sage Entitlements said the team has resubmitted stormwater and traffic responses and is coordinating with the City of Freeport on a central water and sewer agreement necessary for later phases.
Staff and applicant discussed outstanding comments and timing for review. Staff recommended conditional approval to advance to the planning commission while ensuring the central-utility agreement and other outstanding comments are finalized before hearings that require those commitments. The committee voted in favor of conditional approval to move the application forward pending successful resubmittal and confirmation of the required utility agreements.
