The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors convened a special meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2025, then adjourned to closed session on an agenda matter and later reconvened with no report, the board announced.
An unidentified presiding officer called the meeting to order and directed the clerk to conduct roll call: Supervisors Klein, Mulhern, Hashak, Norvell and Williams were recorded present; one supervisor stated they were appearing remotely under the Brown Act’s Just Cause provision to travel for county business and that it was their first time using Just Cause this calendar year. The presiding officer asked CEO Darcy Anto to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
During agenda housekeeping the presiding officer said item 3b had been withdrawn at the request of the department. After asking for public comment on item 3a (none were offered), the board adjourned to closed session to hear item 3a and said it would reconvene no sooner than 9:30 a.m. When the board reconvened the presiding officer stated there was 'nothing to report' from closed session and indicated the meeting would be adjourned. The presiding officer referenced a time of 02:12/12:12 while announcing adjournment.
No formal votes, appointments or policy decisions were recorded in the open session transcript available for this meeting. The meeting included public-service announcements from county offices but no substantive deliberation or legislative actions were recorded in open session.
