Adam told the board that Oconee County solicited bids to expand a 2,100-linear-foot section of sewer collector between the Oconee Connector and Parkway Boulevard, proposing to replace an existing 8‑inch sewer line with a 12‑inch line to support future growth. He said six firms submitted bids and his recommendation was to award the contract to Matthews Development Corporation for a total bid of $658,923.50, and that $250,000 of the amount would be a developer contribution.
Adam said the 12‑inch pipe would increase capacity to approximately 1,100,000 gallons per day and that staff included necessary budget movements in the request up to the contract amount for the life of the project. He noted the pipe size was increased from an originally proposed 10‑inch to 12‑inch to support future basin growth.
The board discussed the recommendation; the meeting record shows the recommendation and the contract amount but does not record a final vote in this segment. Staff asked that the item be placed on the consent agenda for formal approval.
Next steps: If the board approves the contract in consent, staff will execute the award and proceed with contract administration and construction scheduling.
