Superintendent reported to the Livingston Parish School Board that district school performance scores (SPS) released to districts showed a rise from 90.9 to 92.7 — a 1.8‑point increase — and two‑year growth of 3.2 points. The superintendent said districts received a simulated score from the Louisiana Department of Education for planning because the state’s accountability formula is changing.
"We are ranked ninth in the state," he told the board, saying the district moved up from a tie for tenth last year. He added that 23 schools increased their SPS and four schools moved from a C to a B grade. Early childhood scores showed growth as well: the superintendent reported an increase from 5.7 to 5.75 on the early‑childhood scale.
The superintendent emphasized these scores are unofficial and intended for planning. "I'm gonna stress that I'm showing you this because you are the ones that help us make plans for the future," he said, and credited administrators, teachers, students and central office staff for the gains.
Board members thanked the superintendent and staff for the reported gains and noted celebrations at campuses. The superintendent also reminded the board of Thanksgiving office hours and acknowledged the district nutrition staff for serving more than 25,000 full Thanksgiving meals across campuses.
