TCEQ appoints seven members to Tax Relief for Pollution Control Property advisory committee

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality approved the Executive Director’s recommendations to appoint seven individuals to the Tax Relief for Pollution Control Property Advisory Committee.
Melissa Altman of the Air Quality Division presented the recommendations, noting vacancies and the statutory requirement in Texas Tax Code §11.31 for the committee. The commission approved seven appointees to four-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2029: Bob Adair (industry representative), Charles Allred (independent technical expert), Michelle Carter (industry), Karen Khan (appraisal district representative), Martha Lanware (industry), Bill Longley (taxing unit representative), and David Poplar (appraisal district representative).
OPIC (Garrett Arthur) said his office supports adoption of the appointments. Commissioners thanked staff for soliciting nominations and moved to adopt the resolution to appoint the recommended members; the motion passed.
