"Stories are not just in the materials found on our shelves or in our electronic resources," the library speaker said, "they're also found in photos, documents, sound bites of, for, and about our community." The library introduced Megan Madura as the staff member in charge of this year's basket drive.
The library representative said patrons can donate finished baskets or items and that the program coordinates with local nonprofits to distribute donations. Staff also confirmed financial donations are accepted through the library foundation's online portal.
The proclamation and library announcement were presented as ceremonial items; no formal vote was required. The city encouraged residents to consult the library website or the printed Largo Public Library magazine for details on participation.
