The Tredyffrin-Easttown facilities committee updated the board on construction progress and several change orders during its Nov. 18 meeting.
Dr. Robert Singh said athletic turf fields, track and tennis courts were complete and site work such as parking and base paving was ongoing; drone photos and videos are posted on the district website for public viewing. Singh said required PennDOT work on Cassatt, Irish and Old State roads is continuing and that contractors have completed a number of fieldhouse interior tasks.
Singh listed change orders associated with the projects: PennDOT HOP-related work (~$24,758), a swing-gate access for 312 Cassatt Road (~$5,648), and ball-stopper netting for turf field 1 (~$37,323). On the Bear Hill Elementary adaptive-reuse site, crews discovered a void under an existing concrete slab requiring slab removal and remediation (change order ~ $13,000) and a dumpster enclosure wall change order (~$9,000). Singh said additional underground-footing and plumbing rerouting work will be addressed in future change orders and that some on-site fiber optic cables required coordination with Verizon for removal.
The board did not vote on construction items at the Nov. 24 meeting; Singh encouraged the public to view the project photos and drone footage on the district website for further detail.
