Councilmember Imbastato requested an additional $930,000 for a road he described as "deplorable" in District 7 and said the district carries an outsized number of critical road miles. Public-works staff confirmed District 7 has many miles of low-volume roads and several in 'critical' condition. Council members debated prioritization and the parish's mileage-based allocation approach before approving the addition.
The clerk recorded the roll-call result on the District 7 item as "The motion passes with 8 yeas, 4 nays, 1 abstention, and 1 absent." Councilmembers cited limited capital dollars and the need for a long-term plan while acknowledging local infrastructure needs.
The transfers and the District 7 addition were bundled into the capital introduction; council moved to introduce the 2026–2030 capital-improvement ordinance for further consideration.
