Trails groups ask Natrona parks for $5,000 to support single-track winter grooming; county project updates provided

During public comment, Austin Burgess of the Central Wyoming Trails Alliance submitted a written request and asked trustees to place a grooming-funding item on the next agenda. Burgess said the Alliance seeks $5,000 to offset approximately $10,000 in grooming costs for expanded single-track winter grooming (from roughly 7.5 to 11.5 miles).
Burgess also briefed the board on the Cottonwood Creek Dinosaur Trail project and reported progress on trail construction and coordination with the Wyoming Geological Association and local partners. Parks Director Michael Brown and staff said they have been engaged and that the project is moving toward completion in mid-December unless weather delays work.
The board accepted the document from Burgess and agreed to place the request on the next meeting agenda for further review and potential budget or grant consideration.
