Drago said he sought the rezoning to provide a mobile home site for his daughter and that he planned to preserve as much wooded buffer as possible to minimize neighborhood impact. William Lyons, a resident who said he built his house in the area in 1976, opposed the rezoning, saying the area is residential and warning rezoning one lot could lead to additional mobile homes that would lower property values.
A councilmember made a motion to approve second reading, but there was no second; the clerk announced the request 'dies' and RZ2519 was not approved.
