County OKs $3.5M CMAR contract for East Elm Creek pump-station replacement

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners approved a construction manager-at-risk (CMAR) contract with Peterson Construction Company on Nov. 24 for the East Elm Creek pump-station replacement.
Tiffany Magg, director of environmental services, told the board the existing pump station is beyond its useful life and requires both upgrades for capacity and relocation of flows to the new plant. Magg said the "Total cost is 3 and a half million dollars" and that the county is "looking for this to be complete hopefully by 2026, maybe into 2027." She added some early procurement is being pursued for long-lead items such as electrical equipment and a generator so construction can be fast-tracked.
Commissioners asked whether the project was budgeted; Magg confirmed costs were included across 2025 and 2026, with specific line items noted for design and construction budgeting. The board voted to approve the CMAR contract, with recorded affirmative votes from Commissioners Lewis, Merrill and Benton.
