Staff said the town would initially maintain the parcel as prairie, with potential future low-impact additions such as crushed-stone trails or native restoration. Council members asked what the town planned to do with the site and were told it would be maintained as prairie and later considered for low-impact paths or native plant restoration.
On a separate parks item, staff presented the annual lease agreement with Brownsburg Little League. Changes from the 2025 agreement were described as clarifications of mowing and landscaping responsibilities and minor rent-term language clean-up by legal counsel. Council confirmed rent remains the same as the prior year and asked that schedule posting be available on at least one diamond for residents without internet access; staff agreed to that posting requirement. The council voted to approve the lease resolution on motion and roll call.
