Dennis, representing the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, introduced Jeffrey Woolverton as the Chamber’s new executive director during the council work session on Oct. 9. Woolverton said he started Oct. 1 and described more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience with a focus on strategic planning and fundraising.
"My first task in this new role is to look at the strategic growth of the Chamber — not just number‑wise, but engagement," Woolverton said, noting prior work with Boys and Girls Clubs and community‑development experience. He said he looks forward to strengthening partnerships with the city and local stakeholders and will be reaching out to council members and community leaders.
Council members welcomed Woolverton and encouraged continued collaboration with city economic development staff and local boards.
What’s next: Woolverton will begin outreach to members and partners and coordinate with city staff on shared economic development goals.
