Principal Heather McKillop introduced points of pride and invited coaches and senior captains to the microphone to thank the community for support during the soccer team’s playoff run. Coaches John Zep and Dave Sachs and several student speakers described community turnout, sportsmanship and the team’s progression to the state championship.
Heather and coaches emphasized the team’s character and community spirit. A student captain said, “We really felt the support from the entire community,” summarizing the players’ appreciation for parent and fan involvement.
The board also received a report on teacher‑led instructional practices at the high school. Ashley Mudrick, the library media specialist, described a professional development day organized by department leads that featured more than 20 presenters and four focus areas: cross‑curricular collaboration, reading, showcases and executive‑functioning supports. The PD was tied to a SMART goal requiring staff to implement two to three new instructional practices across classes.
Board members congratulated students and teachers and thanked staff for organizing both athletic and instructional activities that support student growth.
