The Farmington Public Schools Board voted Dec. 2 to adopt six policy changes advanced by the Board Governance Committee and external counsel Miller Johnson, waiving a second reading.
The approved items include amended policies on safety and security (Policy 6002), education records/directory information (revised Policy 2003), and learning and achievement (Policy 2002), plus new policies covering employee salary schedule (Policy 4003) and facility dog usage (Policy 6014).
Vice President Walker moved to adopt the committee’s recommendations as presented; the motion was supported and the board approved the changes by roll‑call vote. Trustees said the updates reflect prior committee discussion and the packet contains redlined language for review.
The facility dog policy will provide parameters for use of trained dogs on campus; the employee salary schedule policy creates formal conditions of employment where previously none existed. Board staff will incorporate the new language into the district policy manual and post updated policies to the board packet and district website.
