Greene County commissioners approve routine vouchers, grants and contracts; new jail ribbon-cutting set for Nov. 19

The Greene County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 13 cleared a slate of routine items, approved several procurement actions and grant applications, recognized a local organization and set a ribbon‑cutting date for the county’s new jail.
Among the actions the board approved during a meeting that ran through its regular agenda were: approval of prior meeting minutes; authorization of five vouchers described as routine; travel and training requests (including out‑of‑state speaker participation at the American Correctional Association conference, paid from grant funds); year‑end transfers of appropriations to cover insurance and temporary furlough needs; and several procurement and contract‑related items.
The board adopted a resolution commending the Wilberforce chapter of The Links, Incorporated on its 75th anniversary and declared surplus personal property to be sold on govdeals or discarded ahead of planned demolition. Commissioners approved reappointment of Dr. Amanda Henson Enzler to the Greene County Mental Health and Recovery Board for a 07/01/2025–06/30/2029 term.
Infrastructure and procurement votes included authorizing a $208,970.90 county contribution for City of Beavercreek paving on North Fairfield Road, approving a final change order that reduced 2025 collective paving contract totals by about $230,000, and approving a 75% reduction of the performance bond for Nathaniel’s Grove Section 8 sanitary and water work.
Staff also received authorization to use the Omnia Partners cooperative purchasing contract to replace the roof at the county lab facility (estimated cost just over $216,000) and to complete an administrative staffing support participation survey to pursue one-time Family & Children First funds (county allocation just over $22,000). A small America 250 Ohio grant application for $3,500 to host an outdoor movie at Caesars Ford was authorized.
Commissioners offered brief comments about Veterans Day events and other community engagements. The board announced a ribbon cutting for the new jail on Nov. 19 at 2:00 p.m. and adjourned.
