NORTON — The Norton City Council recorded a series of formal actions Dec. 1, passing intergovernmental-agreement renewals and the city’s annual appropriation ordinance, while introducing other items for further consideration.
Major votes recorded: • Resolution 1 0 5 20 25 — Adopted. The council authorized the mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement renewal with Summit County for the direct indictment program for calendar year 2025; council members noted the program’s local cost is minimal, “somewhere around $75.” Speaker 3 moved to adopt and the motion passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
• Resolution 1 0 6 20 25 — Adopted. Council adopted the 2026 renewal of the same intergovernmental agreement for the direct indictment program; Speaker 3 moved and Speaker 4 seconded; roll-call vote was unanimous.
• Ordinance 1 0 7 20 25 — Adopted. Council approved the annual appropriation ordinance for current expenses and other expenditures for the fiscal year ending 12/31/2026 after asking questions of staff and thanking staff for information provided; the ordinance was adopted by unanimous roll-call vote.
