Hoffman Estates Finance Committee accepts monthly reports; staff expects most Cook County tax receipts by year-end

The Hoffman Estates Finance Committee met Nov. 24 and accepted monthly reports from the finance department, information technology and the Now Arena, approving minutes from earlier meetings and noting one abstention on the Nov. 6 special-meeting minutes.
Trustee Stanton asked when the village would receive Cook County property-tax distributions. Finance staff member Rachel replied that tax bills are due Dec. 17 and “we are expecting a significant portion of it probably by December 31,” but she cautioned some payments will “linger into January and February.” She added the village is allowed to recognize the revenue as 2025 receipts because the taxes are for that year.
No public comment was offered. Mayor McLeod gave a brief president’s report highlighting recent community events and intergovernmental meetings. The committee adjourned after accepting and filing the reports.
