Council ratifies 2025 historic preservation award nominees

The Ojai City Council ratified the Historic Preservation Commission’s nominations for the 2025 historic preservation awards and the lifetime achievement award at its Dec. 2 meeting.
HPC Chair Gina McCatton presented nominations including Steven Adams, the Playhouse Theater owner David Berger and team members Robert Kupiak and Carrie Miller for annual awards, and Gables of Ojai owners Robert, Alice and Janelle Parsons and co-partner David Brown for the lifetime achievement award. The council approved the ratification by roll call and staff will coordinate award presentations with the HPC.
Chair McCatton thanked the many community members who nominate and support preservation efforts, and council members expressed appreciation for the volunteers and recipients.
