Monongalia County Commission approves consent agenda, personnel hires and community funding

The Monongalia County Commission on Nov. 19 approved its consent agenda, confirmed personnel hires and authorized several small community funding requests and administrative requisitions.
The commission adopted routine consent items presented by County Administrator Reneta McClure, including exonerations, minutes and vouchers (a total voucher figure cited by the administrator). Commissioners then approved two personnel appointments: Carmen Fulmer as family and community development program coordinator, full time at $40,000 a year, effective Dec. 1; and Joshua Brozick as deputy dog warden, full time at $33,500 a year, with a six‑month probationary period. Both hires were moved, seconded and carried by affirmative vote.
On grants, Grants Coordinator Colin Cooney requested reimbursements for a Community Corrections grant ($20,145.87) and VOCA funds ($8,181.17); the commission approved those reimbursements.
Under new business, the commission authorized up to $2,300 from the Monongalia County Ballpark Events Fund to support the West Virginia Black Bears outreach program for the 2026 season, noting the team’s partnership with United Way for ticket and jersey‑auction fundraising. The panel also approved $600 to Main Street Morgantown to record and televise the city’s Dec. 10 Christmas parade.
Administrative requisitions were approved as well: requisition No. 19 for Harmony Grove Phase 1 administrative expenses ($1,036.25 to Steptoe & Johnson) and requisition No. 12 for Mon General Maple Drive series 2016C administrative expense ($132.50 to Steptoe & Johnson) for annual reporting assistance.
Each motion on the floor was moved and seconded in open session and recorded as accepted by the commissioners’ affirmative vocal response. The meeting concluded after board reports and a motion to adjourn.
