The Waukee City Council approved a site-plan resolution for Phase 2 of The Pitch, a multifamily development at 705 Northwest 2nd Street.
City planner Melissa presented the application on behalf of the owner (Pitch LLC). Phase 2 covers 3.71 acres in an R-3 multifamily residential district and would add 42 units distributed among four two‑story buildings (each about 24–27 feet high) with building footprints between roughly 10,000 and 12,000 square feet. All buildings include attached garages. The plan calls for two access points from Northwest Douglas Parkway, a pedestrian connection to an existing 10‑foot trail along the parkway, and on-site stormwater detention between phases; the owner is responsible for maintaining the detention areas and private utilities.
Staff told council that parking and landscaping requirements were met and that public utilities already serve the site. Council voted to approve the site plan following staff recommendation.
