Residents question alley resurfacing and funding after Riverview ADA and alley work accepted

City Engineer Brian Chad responded that the project was funded with general-obligation bonds and was bundled with alley work to reduce the contractor price. "It's actually, general obligation bonds," Chad said, adding that the contractor’s work has been completed and that parks staff will perform cleanup.
The items accepted under public works included: FY2024 contract sewer repair (Peterson Plumbing and Heating) for $537,317.46; junior theater renovation at the Davenport Learning Center (Bill Bruce Builders Inc.) for $372,254 (amount listed on the agenda); Oak Street reconstruction by Eastern Iowa Excavating and Concrete LLC for $274,658.52; and Riverview Terrace Park ADA accessibility work by Emery Construction Group Inc. for $58,588.08.
Councilors said they would follow up to clarify funding sources, confirm the scope of remaining parks work and the maintenance responsibility for adjacent sidewalks and street areas.
No formal amendment or change in funding was made tonight; the items were moved on according to the consent/agenda process.
