City staff said the new LED system will carry a 25‑year warranty and that the expected installation timeline ranges from 90 to 180 days depending on material availability.
Parks staff explained the project responds to poles that have fallen or been removed at multiple parks and described interim measures the city used to keep fields usable. Council members emphasized the safety benefits and urged a speedy start; the motion to award the contract was moved, seconded, and passed by voice vote.
What happens next: staff will issue a purchase order and the contractor will begin scheduling work; the manager is authorized to approve change orders under the $15,000 purchasing threshold.
