Wade Elliott, presenting for transportation/engineering, said reconfiguring the Oak/Dimock/G intersection will improve safety as traffic volumes rise following the planned railroad crossing relocation. The parcel had an appraisal of $149,840 and an assessed value of $83,400; staff negotiated a tentative purchase price of $97,000, which fell within previously authorized negotiating parameters (less than $100,000). Project TR 6,247 includes funding for the acquisition and design; additional construction funding will be addressed in future budget cycles.
Eric moved to approve the resolution authorizing the city manager to purchase the property; Joel seconded. A roll-call vote returned unanimous approval and staff was directed to proceed with closing. The planned escrow closing date is tentatively the 17th of the month, although staff noted flexibility with the seller if council elected to postpone.
