A public commenter told Weston County commissioners on Nov. 18 that Cheyenne will keep the jail’s fingerprint server running as a temporary workaround and that the county is first on the list for a grant to replace the machine; commissioners were advised the county could be responsible for purchasing a replacement if grants are delayed.

Commissioners also asked for a joint update on the joint powers dispatch, requested invitations for dispatch leadership and city partners to provide a combined briefing, and discussed ambulance service capacity and provider‑of‑service agreement language. Commissioners asked staff to consider adding Title 25 responsibilities into the ambulance provider agreement and to explore provider funding and operational limits, noting the county currently lacks funds for a second ambulance and that service rotation and transport timing create difficult operational choices.
