Hermosa Beach — The Hermosa Beach City Council reconvened its Nov. 20 special meeting after a closed session, and the city attorney reported: "There are no reportable actions," bringing the public portion of the meeting to a close.
Madam City Clerk called the roll, confirming Council member Francois, Council member Keegan, Council member Jackson, Mayor Pro Tem DeToy and Mayor Semon were present and that the council had a quorum. The presiding official opened the public-comment period for the closed-session agenda but said there were no speakers in chambers and no Zoom participants with virtual hands raised, then recessed the meeting for the closed session.
Upon reconvening, the presiding official asked the city attorney for a closed-session report. The city attorney said there were no actions from the closed session that required disclosure to the public. The council then concluded the meeting; there were no recorded motions or votes during the public session.
Councilman DeToy offered a holiday message during the adjournment, saying he wanted to "wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving" and inviting residents to the city’s Christmas tree lighting on Sunday. A separate recorded safety announcement followed the adjournment portion of the broadcast, urging correct child-seat use and discouraging driving after drinking and referencing public safety guidance online.
Because the city attorney reported there were no reportable actions, the council did not announce any public decisions or follow-up directives at the close of this special meeting. Any matters discussed in closed session remain confidential as permitted by law.
