Board approves calendar, budget amendments and purchase of three school buses

Lincoln County school board members approved a slate of routine items including the school year calendar, multiple budget amendments, and the purchase of three school buses.

Mister Miller moved and the board approved the school-year calendar. Mister Nicks presented several general purpose fund budget amendments and smaller federal grant adjustments. Nicks outlined specific line-item changes including $163,175 to adjust special-education line items, $5,000 to budget for a CTE-sponsored grant, $25,000 to cover additional transportation attendance incentives (moved from transportation equipment to bonus lines), $141,001.69 for payroll and insurance adjustments in the Highland Rim building, $4,060 for booster-club‑restricted donations for coach supplements, and $126,240 to budget for a human-services and personnel position. He also reported small Title I and Title II revisions of $572.02 and $32.86 and a $425.55 item that he said he would clarify.

Nicks told the board he received a single bus bid from Central State Bus Sales at $166,580 per bus and proposed buying three buses. The board moved to approve the bus purchase and accepted the November financial reports for district funds.
