Clinton Neal, Park Services Supervisor for the City of Denison Parks and Recreation Department, updated the commission on recent parks projects.
"My name is Clinton Neal. I'm the park services supervisor for the city of Denison parks and rec department," Neal said, and described work on the Waterloo Concession Building. Neal said crews replaced rotting wood, installed new framing and hardy plank siding, refreshed brick paint and trim, and added a window air-conditioning unit after the main AC failed. Neal estimated the project took about "2 and a half to 3 weeks" to complete and framed the window unit decision as cost-effective.
Neal also described extensive repairs at Loy Lake Pavilion: crews stripped old shingles, replaced rotten plywood underneath, installed new drip edge and trim, and removed plywood from the pavilion underside to improve airflow and address mold and mildew. Neal said the only remaining task for the pavilion project is painting the poles and trim.
Neal tied the Waterloo work to heavy local use: he noted the field is "highly used by DYS," explaining part of the rationale for investment in the concession building.
Commissioners had no additional questions and Neal concluded his update.
