Commission approves appointment, UTA winter shuttle amendment and final Discover Davis mural grant

During its Nov. 25 meeting the Davis County Commission approved three community and economic development items presented by Director Kent Anderson.
Oliver Young of Young Venues was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Davis County Tourism Tax Advisory Board for a one‑year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and ending Dec. 31, 2026.
The commission approved an amended agreement with the Utah Transit Authority for the snow‑and‑ski bus program (replacing contract 2025‑1216). The amendment shifts the start date from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17 and is payable in the amount of $49,213 for the period Dec. 17, 2025–Apr. 11, 2026.
Commissioners also approved the final of five Discover Davis mural grants, a $10,000 memorandum of understanding with Clearfield City (Nov. 25, 2025–May 1, 2026). Anderson said the mural will include an American kestrel, a QR code linking it to a statewide Utah wildlife mural tour, and that all mural partners provided at least a 50% match; Anderson noted Antelope Island’s larger mural project will be part of the same tour.
Commissioners approved items 7–9 together by voice vote.
