Pawtucket City Council approves $143,356 in tax abatements, confirms Riverfront Commission appointment

A second resolution authorizing abatements for July–September 2025 in the amount of $133,164.20 followed; councilors praised the work of Director Burns for assisting low-income residents affected by tax abatements. Both resolutions passed on roll-call votes recorded as 6–0 in favor.
Separately, the council approved a resolution to change its regular December meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve) to Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at 6 p.m. That change was approved on a roll-call vote, 6–0.
The council also confirmed the mayor’s nomination of Sandra Cano, of 302 Pullen Avenue, Pawtucket, R.I. 02861, to a term on the Riverfront Commission that expires in June 2028. The appointment passed on a 6–0 roll-call vote.
