The consent calendar included: minutes for the Nov. 18, 2025 meeting; payment of bills totaling about $395,000; the monthly report from Kern County Fire Station No. 21 for October 2025 (received and filed with a finding that the activity is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act); an authorization to apply to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District Public Benefit Grants Program for an alternative‑fuel vehicle purchase grant and to authorize the city manager to execute all related documents; approval to cancel the Jan. 6, 2026, city council meeting; allocation of 25% of the city's transit occupancy tax to the Taft Chamber of Commerce for the April–June 2025 quarter; and introduction (with waiver of full reading) of an ordinance to amend Title 5 of the Taft Municipal Code to adopt the 2025 California Building Standards Code and incorporate CAL FIRE hazard maps with specified exceptions and edits.
A motion to approve the consent calendar was made and seconded. The clerk recorded affirmative roll call responses from the five members present in the chamber as recorded in the meeting transcript, and the presiding officer announced the motion carried.
The council then closed the open session and moved into closed session on two items: (a) conference with labor negotiator Craig Jones (city manager) under Government Code section 54957.6 regarding all units, and (b) conference with real property negotiator Craig Jones under Government Code section 54956.8 concerning a disclosed parcel.
No items were removed from the consent calendar for separate discussion during the meeting.
