Passaic County commissioners approve routine business, adopt proclamations and recognize local programs

The board also presented a proclamation recognizing Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter for 14 years of service in the New Jersey General Assembly, noting leadership roles cited in the proclamation and her work on voting‑rights restoration and maternal and infant health initiatives. Assemblywoman Sumter thanked county leadership and reflected on partnerships between county government and her legislative work.
Commissioner Terry Duffy was recognized for induction into the New Jersey Association of Counties Hall of Fame in the class of 2025; commissioners praised his 21 years of service.
The board opened the public comment period, heard a resident's remarks about civic engagement and community advocacy, then closed public comment.
