The council moved and seconded a motion to schedule the reconsideration of the ordinance — a proposed amendment to Town of Middletown Code, Title 11, General Regulations, Chapter 90 Animals, section 90.03 (disposition of carcasses and waste) — for a second reading on Jan. 20, 2026. The president told residents that when a vote is reconsidered "the ordinance goes back to its original state, so it's not in effect" while the council reconsiders the measure.
The motion carried by voice vote. The council clerk will accept sign‑ups for public comment at that meeting and the council indicated it will allow citizens who previously signed up to speak at the Jan. 20 session.
