Middletown honors three fire‑department promotions, swears in new hires

Fire Chief Robert J. McCall opened a promotional ceremony at the start of the Town of Middletown council meeting to recognize three department promotions and several recent hires.

McCall also announced the promotion of Captain Nate McGilvray and Lieutenant Connor Gunning, praising their leadership and work on marine rescue and EMS, respectively.
McCall and other speakers also welcomed new full‑time firefighters Zachary (last name in transcript unclear), Henry Chianive, Matthew Hook and Cameron Neary, and said two academy recruits are expected to graduate on Dec. 19, 2025. The chief described the promotions and hires as "investments in our future" and thanked the assembled staff and family members.
The ceremony was followed by brief applause and a short recess before the council began its regular agenda.
