Planning commission recommends Laraway A & R Pipeline subdivision for council approval

The Planning Commission voted Nov. 20 to recommend approval of a final plat for the Laraway A & R Pipeline / TC Energy subdivision, a proposal to divide an approximately 79‑acre parcel at 4101 South Cherry Hill Road into two lots to support a future gas compressor facility.
City staff described the proposed compressor facility as an essential service permitted in any district when authorized by law, noted that the facility would be serviced by well water and on‑site septic (city mains are more than two miles away), described required county approvals for well and septic, and said the petitioner would be required to escrow funds for half‑road and public improvements and to comply with EPA equipment standards. Petitioner Dan Black of TC Energy answered commissioners’ questions and offered no substantive changes to the staff recommendation.
The commission moved, seconded and approved the recommendation on roll call; the item will be forwarded to city council for final action.
What happens next: After commission recommendation, the city council will consider the final plat and the petitioner must complete required county permitting for well and septic and meet city engineering conditions before building permits can be issued.
