Committee approves funding amendment with Downers Grove and a commitment to regional planning

The DuPage County Transportation Committee on Dec. 2 approved an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Downers Grove that increases funding by $260,208.25 for the county and $263,656.90 for the village.
Chair presented the amendment as an amendment to resolution ETR‑0018B‑12 and called for a motion; the committee moved and the motion carried without further question.
The committee also approved a resolution authorizing an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement related to the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission. Committee staff later answered member questions indicating that noise‑compatibility work includes initiatives such as insulation and window improvements for affected homes and changes in runway patterns to distribute impacts.
Separately, the committee approved a recommendation to commit $81,640.89 in annual financial support to the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning to participate in consolidated regional land‑use and transportation planning. A staff member explained that CMAP produces the Transportation Improvement Program and that projects must be included in that plan to qualify for federal funding; the committee approved the resolution.
All items were approved by voice or roll call during the Dec. 2 meeting.
