The Pocatello City Council approved a package of airport actions at its Dec. 4 meeting, including a new long‑term lease and two separate project authorizations intended to support hangar development and equipment procurement.
Council voted to rescind a previously approved lease with Steve Peterson and adopt a resolution approving a new lease with ZR2 LLC for roughly 12 acres at the airport. The lease is for 30 years at an initial rental rate of $30,000 per year, with annual CPI adjustments and a full rate review scheduled in 2031. Council moved and seconded the motion and approved it by roll call.
Separately, the council approved an amendment to a professional services work order with Ardura to increase the consultant fee from $77,148.40 to $92,125.47 to cover a rebid and procurement of a loader for snow removal; staff said the additional cost will be funded 93.75% by an FAA grant and 6.25% by airport passenger facility charge (PFC) funds, subject to legal review.
Council also approved a $138,786.05 work order for design, bidding, construction and administration of utility installation at a new taxi lane to support hangar development. City staff said funding for that project will come from state and grant sources.
Each action was approved by motion and roll call; council members referenced the projects as steps to support airport infrastructure and economic development at the field.
