LSU Board signs Lane Kiffin term sheet and approves staff contracts, adds coach incentives

The LSU Board of Supervisors approved a term sheet for Lane Kiffin to become LSU’s head football coach and authorized multiple related staff contracts and incentive changes during a meeting Dec. 12.

The board approved a term sheet covering Kiffin’s service through Dec. 31, 2032, with total compensation of $13,000,000 for the term. The motion passed by voice vote.

Earlier the board approved a first amendment to the interim head coach Frank Wilson’s employment agreement to increase compensation for November–December 2025 and to add incentives: $10,000 for each SEC win for the remainder of the season, an increase in non‑college‑football‑playoff bowl incentives from $15,000 to $50,000, and a new $100,000 incentive for a win in a non‑College Football Playoff bowl.

Also approved were term sheets for the head strength and conditioning coach (Nick Savage), coordinators and assistant coaches (including Blake Baker, Charlie Weiss, George McDonald, Joe Cox, Dane Stevens, Eric Wolford) and senior football operations staff; the contracts include multi‑year terms and specified annual salaries and escalators recorded in the board packet.

Why it matters: The Kiffin contract and staff term sheets represent a major financial and programmatic commitment by LSU Athletics as it pursues competitive success and revenue growth.
