Roxbury board approves finance, education, policy and personnel packages; several members recuse on expense items

"I'm excusing myself of my reimbursement for Atlantic City conference," said Missus Clucci when recording her vote. Missus Hopkins similarly noted she would "recuse myself on the line item, bills list number 2 for my own expenses for the Atlantic City conference and also recusing myself for line item 7, the line number 34 for my training." Missus Purcell and Mister Milledi also recorded recusals on specified items. The finance package passed as recorded by roll-call.
Board member Marla moved approval of education resolutions 1–4, which cover new course approvals for the 2026–27 school year; the board approved the education package by roll-call vote. The board also approved a policy resolution containing six items to separate classroom resource materials from library materials and to add a new library-materials policy and regulation; board materials cited the incoming Freedom to Read Act as the driver of those adjustments.
Personnel resolutions 1–22, covering hiring, assignments and other personnel actions, were approved by roll-call. Mister Milledi recused himself on personnel resolution 2, item 4; the remaining personnel items passed.
The board set its next meeting for Dec. 15 and indicated that session would include an executive session.
