City staff and a contracted designer presented a new branding package for the City of Hopewell, describing refreshed vector logos, a defined color palette, standardized fonts and templates for social media, email signatures, and print use.
Presenter Michael Hall said the work focused on creating vector versions of the logo to eliminate pixelation, standardizing Pantone and hex color codes, and creating alternate logo layouts and social media avatars. Staff said the IT department plans to begin implementation in January when resources allow. City counsel also said the city has applied to the State Corporation Commission to trademark the city seal and that a future ordinance would regulate the seal's use.
Council asked clarifying questions about implementation timing and the trademark process; staff confirmed a planned January rollout of the visual standards and the trademark application is underway.
