Riley County to launch Beacon online property portal Dec. 1, appraiser says

Anna Birsen, of the Riley County Appraisers Office, told commissioners Nov. 24 that the county will launch a new online property information portal — Beacon, provided by Schneider Geospatial — on Dec. 1. The current parcel-search system will remain available through Dec. 30 to allow a smooth transition.
"Beacon delivers clearer, more accessible information to the public with enhanced tools and allows us to provide additional features at no added cost," Birsen said, describing improved valuation displays, advanced search functions, interactive GIS maps, aerial imagery and downloadable property record cards.
Birsen said statutorily authorized subscribers such as mortgage lenders may apply for paid access to comparable sales data; the appraisers office is contacting current subscribers with instructions for access to the new site.
