Loudon — The Loudoun Legion and Loudoun Lions announced a Toys for Tots drop-off for Nov. 29 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall. The event will be a town drop-off location coordinated with the Marine Corps Reserve; light refreshments will be available.
Organizers asked residents to donate unwrapped new toys appropriate for recipients' ages. "Anything just unwrapped," one organizer said, and attendees were encouraged to consult the Toys for Tots website for recommendations on age-specific needs.
Separately, the police department’s Janice asked the board to support Helping Hands’ request for gift cards to assist local families: fuel, groceries and restaurant cards were cited as examples and residents were invited to drop them off at the police department.
The board noted the seasonality of needs and encouraged community participation in both initiatives.
