The Northampton County Board of Commissioners approved Budget Amendment #3 to add a $1.5 million Golden Leaf grant to the FY25–26 budget after a finance staff presentation of the September 2025 monthly financial report.
Finance staff told the board that, as of Sept. 30, revenues were down roughly 4% compared with the same point last year but that the county expected an uptick as additional tax collections are received. The finance report included a new exhibit on taxes collected; staff said total collected taxes as of Sept. 30 were $1,590,000, composed of $1,250,000 in current-year collections and $336,000 in prior-year collections.
Following the presentation, a commissioner moved to approve the budget amendment to record the Golden Leaf grant; the motion was seconded and the board approved the amendment by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will incorporate the grant into the budget and implement the grant-funded project per the terms approved by the school board and recorded in the packet.
