The Connecticut Rare Disease Advisory Council voted to keep its regular meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m. for the first six months of 2026. Council cochair Leslie Bennett opened a discussion about scheduling conflicts; physician representative Emily Germaine Lee proposed keeping the current fourth-Tuesday schedule and Craig Miller seconded the motion. The council, by voice, approved the proposal.
The vote followed concerns from members about recurring conflicts with clinical faculty and chiefs meetings, holidays and state events; members agreed to revisit the schedule in June and to coordinate with Senator Anwar’s office on Rare Disease Day logistics. The decision was procedural and does not change the council’s substantive agenda items, which include website updates, an annual report outline and formation of an executive subcommittee to revise bylaws.
The council recorded the decision by consensus/voice vote; no roll-call tally was provided.
